Equity Risk Partners announced today that Joan E. Spiegel has joined the firm as a Managing Director in its San Francisco office. Ms. Spiegel has over 30 years of insurance brokerage, risk management and underwriter experience. She will be responsible for overseeing the San Francisco profit center, as well as the firm’s Risk Management Consulting Practice.

Ms. Spiegel’s insurance and risk management credentials are impeccable. Most recently, she was a Senior Vice President at Marsh. Prior to Marsh, she was Vice President of Risk Management at Safeway, Inc. In addition, Ms. Spiegel had risk management responsibilities at Lucky Stores, Inc. and Pacific Telesis Group. Ms. Spiegel also has eight years of insurance company claims management experience. She has her CPCU, ARM, and AIC (Associate in Claims) designations, as well as an MBA in Finance from the University of California – Berkeley.
